Add Variety to Their Day
While your children are at school, they don't sit still all day. They are going to recess, music, art, computer class, the library, lunch, PE, and STEM. And they are shifting from desks to the floor, writing to creating, sitting to standing. Breaks are built in often and frequently. So as you are transitioning to the new 'normal' home school setting, create a schedule with lots of transitions. Designate times during the days for activities to take place. This will also allow the parent working from home to better plan their day for conference calls or answering emails. And if you have little ones, they too can 'go to school'. They will be thrilled (at least for a while) to feel grown up.
